winn huynh
summary and style
Winn graduated from UCLA with a Chemistry-Materials Science B.S. with a minor in Science Education and with a Chemistry Ph.D. (Inorganic Concentration) at UC Riverside. At UCLA, he taught K-12 science, and at UCR he has taught class sizes of 20-250. By nurturing a mentor relationship with his students, he has written recommendation letters that have landed students with a career at Loma Linda Health, a volunteer position at the competitive Kaiser Permanente COPE program, and prestigious research fellowships at both the NSF-BITSURE and UC LEADS program.
Winn has written successful applications to scholarships including the UC LEADS Fellowship, the Cota-Robles Fellowship, and the US Department of State Gilman Scholarship. He has also edited essays which have yielded successful admissions letters to top colleges.
Winn is currently a chemistry professor at Los Angeles Pierce College, and he is involved in creating avenues towards making chemical education more equitable and accessible.
